POWER TECHNOLOGY ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT WITH
INTEL TO SHIP DFX MP3 ENHANCEMENT SOFTWARE WITH INTEL DESKTOP BOARDS
San Francisco, Calif., October 22 , 2001
— Power Technology announced today that DFXâ,
a high-performance internet audio enhancement software that dramatically
improves the sound quality of MP3 and all other internet audio formats will be
distributed with Intel Desktop Boards beginning in the fourth quarter of 2001.
DFX
uses advanced patent-pending DSP based processing that compensates for the
audio quality limitations of the MP3 format and all other popular internet
audio formats. DFX also uses sophisticated processing to optimize audio for
playback on PC audio systems, providing dramatic increases in clarity and
usable output level.
The version of DFX shipped with Intel Desktop
Boards has been optimized for the Pentium 4 architecture, providing superior
performance compared to any other DFX version. DFX will be integrated with the
RealPlayer and Real Jukebox products that are also shipped with Intel Desktop
Boards, providing an enhanced audio experience for virtually every audio
playback mode and format.
